Seddon and Davison is an independent home and lifestyle brand with two stores  - one in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and one in Ilkley, West Yorkshire - as well as an online store.

Kara Seddon and Mark Davison founded the brand back in 2018, designing and selling their own range of wildlife inspired homewares, accessories and cards - all British made. Mark’s wildlife and landscape photography is also a key part of their business - and influences many of their own designs.

In April 2022, the couple opened their first bricks and mortar store - in the lovely market town of Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. Whilst still doing the odd event, they quickly realised how much they enjoyed curating their own products alongside other beautiful pieces and began to bring in numerous other designers and brands that they admired. 

Modern country living, with a twist, and a touch of glamour too.

We stick to what we love - earthy tones and lots of textures - sheepskin, boucle, lambswool, linen, and great accessories and lots of lamps. 

The stores are very sensory spaces - very tactile and cozy, lots of great lighting, LED candles and fragrances. Customers really enjoy being here which is so important to us. We love to chat and catch up too

We are very keen on heritage inspired colours and how these work together. Think olives, dusky pink, soft caramels and nude, moss greens, chocolate, ochre, mulberry, warm neutrals…

Lamps, always. Also candle holders, votives and lanterns.  The ability to create ambient lighting and feel cozy is really important to creating a home you love.  We sell real candles but also LED candles - so much safer for children and pets and allows you to create pockets of warm light on bookshelves, media units and soften the room. 

Lots and lots of throws and cushions for an instant refresh. We love to layer cushions and throws and the stores allow customers to try out combinations of colour, patterns and shapes. 

Trays - we love a tray, and so do our customers.  It is such a great way to provide an update to a coffee table, console or footstool.  We can help customers add decorative items, books, candles or glassware or a small vase -  instant style. 

Ceramics - from small dishes to dinner plates and serving plates.  We love organic shapes and earthy tones so customers can mix and match their pasta bowls with different coloured dinner plates/side plates.  A lot of our ceramics are from Portugal but also Japan too.  We also have a great range of glassware - tumblers, champagne coupes, wine glasses - and bar accessories. 

Vases, decorative ornaments and other gorgeous pieces - ideal for dressing a console unit or reworking a mantelpiece or shelf space. 

Faux florals and plants - we continue to add more great florals and plants all the time.  We can do full displays for customers but also sell individual stems.  We will only bring in faux botanicals we have seen in person - ensuring the best quality (there is a big difference).

Home Fragrance - our own brand of UK made candles and diffusers are extremely popular and the stores are a great way to find out which is your favourite. They also ensure both the Ilkley and Harrogate store smell incredible.

Both stores also offer a great range of side tables, coffee and console tables, benches, as well as occasional chairs, clocks, mirrors and artwork.  The new Harrogate store also means we can stock larger dining tables and other bigger pieces.  These items are not available online at present so please do pop in store if you can to have a look. 

2026 brings its own challenges for any small independent business - especially in hospitality and retail  - but we remain committed to ensuring our pricing remains fair and reasonable, something our customers always comment on.

We also continue to source incredible new products, find new brands to work with and keep the shops looking as beautiful as always!

Kara and Mark are also really enjoying working with customers to help them with their interior styling - although this has been in store to date, the couple are looking to develop this side of the business in 2026.

Moving the faux florals online as well as in store is also in progress for this year - something we know our visiting customers will be pleased to hear!
