5 Ways to Refresh your Home for Spring and Summer
Spring is well and truly underway and we all want to breathe a fresh feeling inside the house - especially after such a long, long winter. It needn’t mean a whole truck load of new things though. We’ve put together some ideas to update things easily - low effort but high impact to refresh your space at home.
1. Embrace the Season’s Colours
Think about incorporating seasonal colours to reflect nature for the time of year - greens, florals and lighter colours. You don’t need to change out everything - add a green or pale linen coloured throw, or neutral vases and candlesticks, add in some spring colours for your candle displays or candlesticks.
2. Change Textiles and Fabrics
Switch to lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen, and floral patterns; move away from heavier fabric like velvet for a while. We prefer not to overwhelm the room with florals - add a few accent cushions and mix in with lighter coloured linen cushions.

3. Bring the Outdoors In
During Spring and Summer, add fresh flowers, plants and botanical prints to bring a touch of nature indoors. You only need to add a bud vase with a single stem on your coffee table to add a fresh feel to the room. If you don’t have access to fresh foliage, faux stems such as fox gloves, roses, or hydrangeas look fantastic if you choose carefully, just add some eucalyptus for instant impact.
We can also start to think how our outdoor and indoor spaces work together - refresh outdoor spaces with cushions and blankets to linger longer outside on an evening. Keep baskets handy to keep your blankets in. Don’t forget the candles and LED lighting to add atmosphere too.

4. Update Tablescapes and Dining Areas
Add some lighter accents to your table settings - it can be as simple as using paper napkins with spring or summer floral patterns, or adding fresh glassware. Use pale pink or verte green coloured candles for a pop of colour on the table settings and don’t forget some seasonal flowers. Again, faux stems work just as well - maybe cherry blossom or silver dollar eucalyptus for a light and airy feel.

5. Consider Fragrances
Refreshing your home spaces should include all the senses - and bringing in a fresh, summer fragrance really makes a difference to how you feel in your home. Lime, Basil and Mandarin is perfect for this time of the year with its citrus notes, or Lavender and Geranium if you want to calm, relaxed feel.
